Housing

Goals:

  • Build organizational and capital readiness​

  • Strengthen the local housing ecosystem

  • Expand equitable access to homeownership and stable housing

Outcomes: 
       Chelsea has given $304,000 towards homebuying grants

Merchant Support

Goals:

  • Provide direct, on the ground support to Chelsea businesses by a dedicated individual

  • Improve commercial corridos through facade and business development investments

  • Activate Dover Park as a neighborhood destination that supports local businesses

      Chelsea has given $159,000 towards merchant support

Career Pathways

Goals:

  • Support neighborhood based green career pathways through urban agriculture

  • Create anchor institution college to career pathways through Stockton University

Beautification

Goals:

  • Improve the Chelsea neighborhood through visible, block by block enchancements

  • Strengthen neighborhood identity through branding,  public art, and block level activation

  • Prepare and steward Dover Park as a safe, welcoming community space

      Chelsea has done  255 beautification projects

  • Build consistent, neighborhood, food based traditions

  • Use events to strengthen volunteerism and local engagement

  • Reinforce local culture, identity, and pride through celebration
