Planter Boxes in Business District

OBJECTIVE

With the closing of the Atlantic Club, there were leftover white planter boxes that weren’t being used. Thanks to the former casino and CRDA, the white planter boxes were donated and refurbished by the Chelsea EDC beautification team. The primary objective of the Beautification Initiative is to bring color and natural beauty to the Chelsea community, making it a more visually appealing and inviting place for residents and visitors alike.

PROCESS

  • The team strategically picked plants and flowers that are annual and perennial with stunning visuals that enhance the overall atmosphere of the area.

  • The beautification team also worked on constructing the inside of the planters so it can become self-watering planter that allows for efficient and consistent watering without excessive maintenance.

  • Through signed agreements, businesses will commit to watering and maintaining the planters outside their establishments, fostering a sense of ownership and pride in their contribution to the community's beautification.

  • The team provided guidance to businesses regarding proper watering techniques and general plant care. Periodic inspections and maintenance visits will be conducted to ensure the planters and plants remain in good condition.
