Arbor Day Tree Planting

Tree Tag Logo (1).png

The Chelsea EDC’s beautification effort for tree planting provides a unique opportunity for local students to learn about the significance of trees while actively participating in planting activities. By partnering with the AC Shade Tree Committee, local schools, and the community, we aim to make a positive impact on the environment and foster a sense of environmental responsibility.

  • By imparting knowledge about the benefits of trees, we aim to instill in students a sense of environmental responsibility and encourage them to become active stewards of our planet.

  • By engaging local students in tree-planting activities, we aim to foster a sense of ownership and pride in the community's green spaces.

  • Through Arbor Day, we aim to leave a lasting impact on the community by planting trees that will continue to thrive and benefit future generations.

Each year on Arbor Day, Chelsea EDC partners with the AC Shade Tree Committee, local schools, and the community to plant trees.

Trees are some of the most beautiful sights in nature. They benefit our environment and improve our general well-being.

  • Trees play a crucial role in reducing climate change by collecting carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen through photosynthesis.

  • Trees assist in preventing the greenhouse effect and preserving a stable climate by lowering atmospheric carbon.

  • Trees act as natural filters, capturing harmful pollutants like particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, and sulfur dioxide through their leaves.

  • Trees absorb pollutants, help improve air quality, and create healthier environments for humans and wildlife.

  • By providing natural shade, trees reduce the need for excessive air conditioning and energy consumption in urban areas.

  • Trees help moderate temperatures, mitigating the urban heat island effect, which causes higher temperatures in densely populated regions. As a result, trees help conserve energy and lower electricity costs.
